Yummy Spoonfuls

yummy spoonfuls

Yummy Spoonfuls is a company that specializes in organic baby food. Their motto is “Halthy Babies are Happy Babies”. Their made from scratch food is free of the following: salt, preservatives, sugar, fillers, gluten and dairy. They are also USDA Certified Organic!

I try  to feed my little ones organic as often as possible. However, with a limited budget (as most of us have these days) and indulging family members, it isn’t always possible.

We were sent a samples from their Chunky Yummy line. They offer three stages: Creamy Yummy: Stage-1(4-9 months), Mushy Yummy: Stage 2 (9-12 months) and Chunky Yummy: Stage-3 (12 months and up).

The Chunky Yummy line includes:

-Organic Potato Porridge:  (Red potato, organic peas, organic plum tomato, fresh organic basil, fresh organic garlic, organic carrot, organic olive oil and water).

-Organic Adzuki Beans and Sweet Potato Porridge: (Adzuki beans, organic sweet potatoes, organic fresh plum tomato, fresh organic ginger, fresh organic garlic, organic cold pressed olive oil and water).

-Organic Lentil and Carrot Porridge: (Lentil, organic carrots, organic fresh plum tomato, fresh organic garlic, fresh organic basil, cold pressed organic oilve oil and water).

-Organic Rice Porridge: (Basmati rice, fresh organic plum tomato, organic carrot, fresh organic basil, fresh organic garlic, fresh organic ginger, organic broccoli, fresh organic oregano, organic cold pressed olive oil and water).

Dozer loved the Apples, Pears and the Adzuki Beans and Sweet Potato Porridge. They were all naturally sweet, especially the fruits. The Potato Porridge was another story entirely! He hated it! I tried it, and I have to say, I did not care for it either. My mother-in-law said that it was very bland. However, I think, it was the olive oil. I use it and all other oils, butter, etc. very sparingly. I hate the taste of olive oil (I find it to be vey bitter, Hubs loves the stuff)! I am pretty sure its what turned Dozer off, too.

They were packed and shipped on dry ice and arrived very quickly. (We had great fun making fog out of the dry ice).

For the most part, Dozer really enjoyed Yummy Spoonfuls. I really like that it is an organic alternative to a lot of the other toddler foods out there!
